Please browse this site and see the different gifts she has to offer from jewellery to mirrors, hand made cards and a menagerie of bird and animal wall plaques. A finalist in the prestigious ‘Gift of the Year’ award she is now based in rural Northumberland at Kirkharle Courtyard where she has a gallery and workshop. Kirkharle was the birthplace of the landscape gardener Capability Brown and is now home to several artists’ galleries and a cafe which serves fine foods, where you'll find a warm welcome. Kirkharle Courtyard is just off the A696 north of Ponteland in Northumberland.

"I began experimenting with working with papier maché while studying at art college and after graduating with an Honours Degree in Fine Arts at the Surrey Institute of Fine Art in Farnham continued to indulge my fascination for colour, texture and unusual form through my papier maché artworks. This work has developed into two quite different styles, one of which exemplifies my whimsical tastes and the other more elemental in style, both illustrating the use of decorative pattern and iridescent colour. Each piece is individually designed, hand made, painted and decorated with fine papers and foils before being lacquered, to make the piece strong and waterproof and is a unique craft object."

Her work has been sold through craft shops and galleries throughout the U.K. and internationally. Commissions for individual pieces are welcome.

Artisans have been producing a wide range of objects in papier maché since the invention of paper in China around the 2nd Century A.D. It became fashionable in Europe during the 17th Century and reached the height of its popularity in the second half of the 19th, when papier maché artefacts could be found in a marvelous variety of forms from snuff boxes to bathtubs! In recent years there has been a great revival of interest in the medium, due not least to its ability to produce new and exciting objects from materials which are normally discarded.
